Hi, I'm Ken Weikel. My story begins sometime in 1999 when I wanted to make a pie and discovered I didn't have all the ingredients. After about three trips to the grocery, I began thinking how nice and convenient it would be to have all the ingredients in one bottle. After experimenting in the kitchen, I came up with PIE IN A BOTTLE™. This is the base mix for a pie. All you need to add are eggs and nuts. Later, I started to think of the many different variations you can make from this base, such as pecans and chocolate chips, walnuts and chocolate chips, coconut and chocolate chips and other variations.

I began making pies for friends. They loved them and wanted to know how I was making all these different pies. I told them how they were made and about my idea to bottle it. They thought it was a great idea. So, I started bottling PIE IN A BOTTLE™ in my kitchen and giving it to friends to try out. It caught on and it seemed like everytime I got together with friends, someone always asked for another bottle from "Ken's Kitchen."

Eventually, as they told their friends and their friends told their friends, the demand got bigger and bigger. PIE IN A BOTTLE™ was catching on, and I needed a better way to bottle it. I contracted with Southern Dream Foods in Louisville, KY to mix and bottle PIE IN A BOTTLE™.

I have been on television and radio with PIE IN A BOTTLE™ and have sold hundreds of bottles at different shows. It is truly the easiest homemade pie you ever made and you can feel confident the quality of PIE IN A BOTTLE™ is consistent.
